      sNPFc00448/sNPFc00448 and sNPFc00448/sNPFMI01807 mutant larvae have significantly reduced nociceptive movement responses following stimulation with a von Frey filament, compared to controls; sNPFc00448/+ heterozygotes also have reduced mechanonociceptive behavior, and this is exacerbated by expression of sNPFdsRNA.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Ilp7.PY; sNPFc00448 homozygotes have mildly increased latency of rolling in response to high temperature (local) stimulation, compared to controls.

      Body size is 23% of wild type. Similar changes are seen in the overall size of adult wings, resulting from changes in both cell size and number.
