      pgant5c03193/Df(2L)BSC109 progeny are not viable.

      The larval digestive tracts of pgant5c03193/Df(2L)BSC109 animals show an unusually basic pH compared with controls.

      Wild-type copper cells display abundant O-glycoproteins throughout the apical and luminal region of copper cells. pgant5c03193/Df(2L)BSC109 mutants display a dramatic loss O-glycosylation normally found on copper cells and apical cytoskeletal abnormalities.
