Description

UAS sequences drive expression of a fusion protein that consists of the gcm DNA-binding domain (amino acids 1-390) carrying the point mutation found in gcmN7-4 and fused to the en repressor domain (amino acid residues 1-304). The gcmN7-4 lesion renders the protein inactive.

      Animals carrying gcmN7-4.DN.Scer\UAS.T:en-Rep, Scer\GAL4gcm-rA87.P and Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B which are raised at 18[o]C until the early second larval instar stage and then transferred to 30[o]C show no defects in the migrating medulla neuropile glia.

      Expression of gcmN7-4.DN.Scer\UAS.T:en-Rep, under the control of Scer\GAL4bi-omb-Gal4 does not affect R axon projection. Expression of gcmN7-4.DN.Scer\UAS.T:en-Rep, under the control of Scer\GAL4NP6099 does not affect R axon projection.
