Detailed Description

Follicle cell stress fibres in by33c mutants seem normal.

The wings of by33c homozygous flies have a large distal blister. These blisters are not apparent upon eclosion, but appear as the files stroke their wings as they unfold. The phenotype is suppressed if the flies legs are glued to a slide after eclosion to prevent them from stroking their wings.

byScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP; Scer\GAL4CY2 partially rescues the blistered wing phenotype of by33c homozygotes (22.5% fully rescued; 59.5% partially rescued; 18% not rescued (n = 160).) byR483E.t11.T:Avic\GFP only very weakly rescues the blistered wing phenotype of by33c flies: Depending on the insertion line, 67%-100% of show no rescue, 0%-14% show a partial rescue, and 0-19% show complete rescue (5 lines tested, N = 52). bySH2PTB.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP; Scer\GAL4CY2 does not rescue the blistered wing phenotype of by33c homozygotes.
