Irbp18f05006 homozygosity increases the severity of the somatic dysgenesis phenotype at low (survival permissive) temperatures in flies carrying the Birm2 chromosome (a second chromosome with 17 non-autonomous P-elements) together with a source of transposase. Irbp18f05006 homozygous mutants also display reduced survival rate upon exposure to ionizing radiation or a DNA-damaging agent.
Irbp18f05006 is rescued by Irbp18+t1.5
The increased sensitivity of Irbp18f05006 homozygotes to ionizing radiation or DNA-damaging agents resulting in reduced survival rates compared to the controls can be rescued by combination with Irbp18+t1.5.
