      The posterior compartment of the pupal wing undergoes excess pigmentation (showing black rather than brown pigmentation) in the presence of dopamine in an in vitro melanisation assay in animals expressing Rab5SN.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E.

      When Rab5SN.Scer\UAS is expressed in the wing disc during the third larval instar, endocytosis is inhibited within 2 hours and cell in the wing pouch begin to undergo apoptosis after 6-8 hours.
