Description

Imprecise excision of P{SUPor-P}KG05881 generates a genomic deletion removing the 5' section and upstream promoter regions of CheB42a, along with some enhancer regions of ppk25.

Detailed Description

Males homozygous for ppk25Δ5-22 have a much reduced courtship index relative to controls. The typical climbing response to mechanosensory detection of gravity, stimulation of food intake by gustatory detection of sucrose is not affected in ppk25Δ5-22 homozygous males. Introduction of ppk25+tTg1 (with CheB42a+tTg1) rescues the courtship behavior of ppk25Δ5-22 homozygous males .

Introduction of CheB42a+tTg1 (with ppk25+tTg1) rescues the courtship behavior of ppk25Δ5-22 homozygous males. Introduction of CheB42a+tTg2 fails to rescue the courtship behavior of ppk25Δ5-22 homozygous males.
