Flies in which tsh RNAi is performed at the larval stage, by expression of tshdsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of either Scer\GAL4ey.PH or Scer\GAL4arm.PS, show reduced eyes. This phenotype is variable, with eye loss being up to 75%. Flies containing clones induced at 28-72 hours AEL, in which tshdsRNA.Scer\UAS expression is driven by Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI, often show reduced eyes with abnormal morphology.
