SymEY20504/Df(3R)Exel7283 progeny do not live past the wandering third instar stage when Df(3R)Exel7283 is provided maternally. In contrast, 32% of the expected number of SymEY20504/Df(3R)Exel7283 progeny survive to adulthood when Df(3R)Exel7283 is supplied paternally. This indicates that SymEY20504 is a hypomorphic allele.
