      Metaphases from Su(var)2-HP2Q714X/Df(2R)B11 larval brains show a number of abnormalities (frequency of cells showing each phenotype is indicated in parentheses), such as abnormal chromosome condensation (18.3%), hypercondensed chromosomes (11.3%), hyperploid/polyploid cells (7.0%), chromosome breaks (5.0%) and precocious sister-chromatid segregation (17.0%).

      Su(var)2-HP2Q714X/Df(2R)B11 larvae have poorly developed polytene chromosomes.
