      Metaphases from Su(var)2-HP2Q1187X/Df(2R)B11 larval brains show a number of abnormalities (frequency of cells showing each phenotype is indicated in parentheses), such as abnormal chromosome condensation (24.3%), hypercondensed chromosomes (18.9%), chromosome breaks (8.1%) and precocious sister-chromatid segregation (20.7%).

      Su(var)2-HP2Q1187X/Df(2R)B11 larvae have poorly developed polytene chromosomes.
