Flies expressing Or59aScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4Or22a.8197 yield a super-sustained response to 2-acetyl-3-methylpyrazine, 2-ethyl-3,5(or 6)-dimethylpyrazine, 2-ethyl-3-methylpyrazine, 2-ethyl-3-methoxypyrazine, 2,3-diethylpyrazine, 2,3,5-trimethylpyrazine, 2,6-dimethylpyrazine, 2-methoxy-3-methylpyrazine, 2,3-dimethylpyrazine and to 2,3,5,6-trimethylpyrazine. Super-sustained responses appear to decay initially with a very rapid decrease in frequency, followed by a gradual decay occurring over minutes.
Delivery of a 10[-4] dilution of 2-ethyl-5(6)-methylpyrazine elicits a super-sustained response in flies expressing Or59aScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4Or22a.8197 in a Df(2L)dp-79b/Dp(2;2)dppd21 background (called Δhalo).
