      gbexcision larvae show significantly higher spontaneous excitatory junction currents (sEJCs) from the L3 muscle 6 NMJ than wild-type controls. Consistently, gbexcision larvae show a significant increase in NMJ branches and bouton number compared with controls. However, unlike gb mutant larvae, they show no change in postsynaptic glutamate receptor abundance.
