    Reported amino acid change:

    W151term

    Comment:

G to A nucleotide change at the second or third position of the Trp codon leads to a nonsense mutation (exact site of mutation unspecified). Site of nucleotide substitution in mutant inferred by FlyBase based on reported amino acid change.

    Reference

The recombination frequency seen in the b-pr and pr-cn intervals are similar in TraxW151stop/Df(3R)Exel6174 females compared to controls.

No differences in the rate of X chromosome nondisjunction are seen between TraxW151stop/Df(3R)Exel6174 females and males and control flies.

TraxW151stop/Df(3R)Exel6174 flies are not more sensitive to γ-irradiation than control flies.

    Notes on Origin
    Discoverer

The "H813" chromosome is female sterile when homozygous and has a molecular lesion in the Trax gene (TraxW151stop). However the female sterility appears not to be due to an absence of functional Trax protein, but due to a separable lesion (fs(3)H813H813), since flies carrying the "H813" chromosome over a deficiency for Trax are fertile.
