      Embryos derived from tudA36 females show normal abdomen formation.

      63.6% of embryos derived from tudA36/Df(2R)PurP133a females form some germ cells (an average of 3.6 germ cells/embryo compared to 24.2 in controls) and these embryos can develop into fertile adults.

      Embryos derived from tudA36 females have the normal number of polar granules, but the granules frequently have a string- or rod-like architecture, in contrast to the round or barrel-like shape of wild-type polar granules.
