NB-8X mutants have notched wings.

In hemizygous NB-8X embryos, the axonal pattern is almost wild type except for occasional breaks in the longitudinal connectives. The peripheral glial cells of these embryos are specified normally but show abnormal distribution along the segmental nerves. For example, the dorsal intersegmental peripheral glial cells of the mutant embryos show impaired ventral migration. Migrating glial cells are characterized by extensive filopodia-like structures in these mutants that are not seen on wild-type embryos.
