Mnn1Δ46 and Mnn1Δ46/Mnn1Δ79 males show a constant rate of early mortality in days 1-30. These flies also appear to be slightly more resistant to the herbicide paraquat, although this is in contrast to previous reports of other Mnn1 mutants showing increased sensitivity to paraquat.

Expression of kaybZip.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B in a Mnn1Δ46/+ background results in a moderate thoracic cleft phenotype, while no phenotype is observed in a wild-type background. Scer\GAL4how-24B>kaybZip.Scer\UAS expression in a Mnn1Δ46/Mnn1Δ79 background results in pre-pupal lethality.
