The expression of Dnaaf3^GD14800 under the control of Scer\GAL4^VP16.bam results in viable, sterile males, despite their ability to mate; their seminal vesicles are devoid of motile mature sperm.

The expression of Dnaaf3^GD14800 under the control of Scer\GAL4^sca.PU (together with Dicer-2, for more efficient RNAi) results in uncoordinated adults, with reduced climbing activity.

Adults expressing CG17669^GD14800 under the control of Scer\GAL4^sca.PU show a significant decrease in climbing activity, as compared to controls.

Adults expressing CG17669^GD14800 under the control of Scer\GAL4^elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2^Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
