UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Expression of Tmem18GD4536 under the control of Scer\GAL4Ilp2.PR in adults results in decreased starvation resistance, and modified metabolic profile, but no significant difference in food intake, as compared with controls. Stored carbohydrates are elevated in flies fed ad libitum, and remain elevated after 12 and 24 h of starvation as compared to controls. Circulating carbohydrates and total lipid content are elevated in flies fed ad libitum, but elevation is not maintained throughout starvation.
Adults expressing CG30051GD4536 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
