UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Expression of BHDGD6590 under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU results in an increase in nucleolar volume in larval salivary gland cells. In addition, the nucleoli are multi-lobed (in contrast to the round nucleolus seen in wild type).
Adults expressing BHDGD6590 under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU are larger in size and weigh more than wild-type controls.
Adults expressing BHDGD6590 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
Co-expression of BHDGD6590 enhances the semi-lethality caused by expression of Ras85DV12.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PU at 21-22[o]C, such that few adult escapers emerge. The eye defects of adult escapers are enhanced.
Co-expression of BHDGD6590 exacerbates the increase in the number of mitotic cells per eye imaginal disc seen in larvae expressing Ras85DV12.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PU.
BHDGD6590 is rescued by Scer\GAL4Tub.PU/BHDUAS.Tag:HA
Co-expression of BHDScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 suppresses the increase in nucleolar volume seen in salivary gland cells of larvae expressing BHDGD6590 under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU.
