Co-expression of Nup107^GD12024 suppresses the rough eye phenotype seen in flies expressing Zzzz\GGGGCC^{58.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP} under the control of Scer\GAL4^GMR.PU.

(Freibaum et al., 2015)

Expression of Nup107^GD12024 under the control of Scer\GAL4^tj.PU (and expression of Dicer-2 to increase RNAi efficiency) results in nearly complete infertility in females (but not in males), and extensive disintegration of the egg chambers, including condensation of DNA in the nurse cells and cell death, as compared with controls.

Adults expressing Nup107^GD12024 under the control of Scer\GAL4^elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2^Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
