Expression of PepckGD9451 under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E in third instar wing disc posterior compartments does not result in an increase in cell death, as compared to controls.

Expression of PepckGD9451 under the control of Scer\GAL4Lsp2.3.1 (using tub-Gal80[ts] to limit expression to adulthood) leads to increase in cell death in early germline cysts in the germaria and their reduced size compared to controls (no such increase is observed in vitellogenic follicles and the proportion of dying vitellogenic stage egg chambers is even decreased) and while it has no significant effect on germline stem cell proliferation it negatively affects their maintenance.

The expression of PepckGD9451 under the control of Scer\GAL4Dll-em212, in combination with Dicer-2 expression for efficient RNAi, results in joint defects and reduced tarsal size, as compared to controls.

Adults expressing PepckGD9451 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Posterior compartments of third instar wing discs expressing both PepckGD9451 and mad2GD16427 under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E exhibit a significant increase in cell death, as compared to controls.

Co-expression of PepckGD9451 enhances the increased cell death seen in wing disc posterior compartments expressing BubR1GD10778 under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E.

The larval brain overgrowth exhibited upon expression of bratHMS01121 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.PU is suppressed when PepckGD9451 is co-expressed. The proportion of defective anaphases and the level of cell death seen in larval brains expressing bratHMS01121 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.PU is not significantly changed upon co-expression of PepckGD9451. The tumor growth rate of larval brain explants expressing bratHMS01121 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.PU is suppressed upon co-expression of PepckGD9451.
