The adulthood-only expression of Snap24^GD4050 under the combined control of Scer\GAL4^spi-NP0261 and Gal80[ts] (for temporal regulation of expression) leads to a significant increase in the number of dense core granules within accessory gland secondary cells, as compared to controls. Expression under the combined control of Scer\GAL4^esg.PU and Gal80[ts] (for temporal regulation of expression) leads to a significant decrease in the relative size of secondary cells, as compared to neighboring main cells. The adulthood-only expression under the combined control of Scer\GAL4^spi-NP0261 and Gal80[ts] also results in both virgin and mated males showing a significant increase in the number of dense core granule compartments within accessory gland secondary cells, as compared to matched controls.

Adults expressing Snap24^GD4050 under the control of Scer\GAL4^elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2^Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
