UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
The adulthood-only expression of Snap24GD4050 under the combined control of Scer\GAL4spi-NP0261 and Gal80[ts] (for temporal regulation of expression) leads to a significant increase in the number of dense core granules within accessory gland secondary cells, as compared to controls. Expression under the combined control of Scer\GAL4esg.PU and Gal80[ts] (for temporal regulation of expression) leads to a significant decrease in the relative size of secondary cells, as compared to neighboring main cells. The adulthood-only expression under the combined control of Scer\GAL4spi-NP0261 and Gal80[ts] also results in both virgin and mated males showing a significant increase in the number of dense core granule compartments within accessory gland secondary cells, as compared to matched controls.
Adults expressing Snap24GD4050 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
