cu^GD8898, Scer\GAL4^tim.PE flies show essentially wild type free-running rhythms in constant dark.

cu^GD8898, Scer\GAL4^tim.PE flies are arrhythmic under constant light, like wild type.

Adults expressing cu^GD8898 under the control of Scer\GAL4^elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2^Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) can show significantly reduced avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies, depending on the particular P{GD8898} insertion line used.

Expression of cu^GD8898 under the control of Scer\GAL4^αTub84B.PL, Scer\GAL4^Act5C.PI or Scer\GAL4^da.G32 results in a curled wing phenotype.

Expression of cu^GD8898 under the control of Scer\GAL4^hs.2sev (using heat shock) at any developmental stage prior to the third larval instar does not result in a curled wing phenotype, whereas expression during mid and late third larval instar results in a low penetrance (less than 30%) of curled wings. Expression of cu^GD8898 under the control of Scer\GAL4^hs.2sev during the pupal stage results in a fully penetrant curled wing phenotype, with expression as late as 11-24 hours prior to eclosion still resulting in a curled wing phenotype in the majority of flies.
