UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of Gr21a tagged with YFP(1), a non-fluorescent split fluorescent protein fragment. Designed to be used in a protein fragment fluorescence complementation assay to study protein-protein interactions in vivo.
This construct is designed for a "protein-fragment complementation assay (PCA)"; the T:Avic\GFP-YFP N-terminal fragment is complementary to a C-terminal T:Avic\GFP-YFP fragment which is carried on separate constructs. Binding of proteins tagged with either of the two T:Avic\GFP-YFP fragments brings them in close enough proximity to fold into an active form and fluoresce.
