UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of Or43a tagged with YFP(2), a non-fluorescent split fluorescent protein fragment. Designed to be used in a protein fragment fluorescence complementation assay to study protein-protein interactions in vivo.
This construct is designed for a "protein-fragment complementation assay (PCA)"; the T:Avic\GFP-YFP C-terminal fragment is complementary to an N-terminal T:Avic\GFP-YFP fragment which is carried on separate constructs. Binding of proteins tagged with either of the two T:Avic\GFP-YFP fragments brings them in close enough proximity to fold into an active form and fluoresce.
