Detailed Description

The cuticle of wls7E4 germline clone embryos that are paternally rescued show minor segmentation defects and often survive to adult stages of development. Non-paternally rescued wls7E4 germline clone embryos show a 'lawn of denticles' phenotype. This phenotype is also seen in germline clone embryos where the mother contributes the wls7E4 chromosome and the father contributes a Df(3L)vin5 chromosome.

Clones of wls7E4 mutant tissue at the wing margin results in the loss of both sensory bristles and margin wing vein, but cause no other effect on wing development.
