Females expressing Nup154Scer\UAS.P\T.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 do not show any evident alterations in the germline or somatic cells of the egg chambers, however eggs laid by these females are unable to sustain embryo development beyond a few mitotic cycles. Males expressing Nup154Scer\UAS.P\T.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 do not show any defects in sperm function or male fertility.
Scer\GAL4VP16.nanos.UTR/Nup154UASp.cGa partially rescues Nup154tlp2
Expression of Nup154Scer\UAS.P\T.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 results in almost complete rescue of the ovarian aspects of the Nup154tlp2 mutant phenotype; 95-98% of egg chambers and eggs have wild-type morphology.
