Description

Imprecise excision of the progenitor insertion, resulting in a deletion of nucleotides -392 to +1118 relative to the wda transcription start site (this removes part of both the wda and CG13827 transcription units).

The majority of wda3 mutant embryos (98%) hatch into larvae. Mutant first-instar larvae do not present abnormalities, or movement behaviour and can develop into second instar larvae. However, second instar larvae do not develop beyond that developmental stage.

A reduction of over 50% in His3-K9 acetylation is observed in wda3 mutants.

The majority of wda11 mutant embryos (98%) hatch into larvae. Mutant first-instar larvae do not present abnormalities in their mouth parts or movement behaviour and can develop into second instar larvae. However, second instar larvae do not develop beyond that developmental stage.

Lethality in wda11 is rescued by expression of wdaScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PK.

Lethality in wda3 is rescued by expression of wdaScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL.

Levels of His3-K9 acetylation in wda3 mutants are restored to approximately 80% of wild-type levels by expression of wdaScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL.
