Early third instar larvae expressing Rab40^UAS.YFP under the control of Scer\GAL4^Cg.PA display larger lipid droplets in the fat body; early third instar larvae expressing Rab40^UAS.YFP under the control of Scer\GAL4^ppl.PP display ectopic lipid droplets in the salivary glands.

The expression of Rab40^UAS.YFP under the control of Scer\GAL4^GMR.PFa results in more and larger lipid droplets in retina glial and photoreceptor cells of 1-day old adults.
