      3 day old flies expressing Hsap\UBQLN1UBQ-8i.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF have normal eye morphology. 18 day old flies show pronounced degeneration in the eye with vacuolation and cell loss, which is progressively worsened by 33 days after eclosion.

      Flies expressing Hsap\UBQLN1UBQ-8i.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH have a range of cuticle outgrowths through the eye tissue.
