      trpS982A.hsp70 only partially rescues the ERG response of red-eyed trp2 homozygous flies, dark-adapted for 2 minutes, to a bright, 2 second white-light stimulation: maintenance of depolarisation during stimulation is completely rescued, but recovery of polarisation following the end of stimulation is slower than in wild-type - in particular, the early, fast component of repolarisation is defective. With low level light stimulation, the repolarisation rate in these flies is similar to wild-type.
