        A number of flr4/flrEY05812 adult escapers can be obtained. These escapers have an obvious "flare" phenotype (highly abnormal wing hairs) in the distal region of the wing, with a progressively weaker phenotype moving proximally.

        Homozygous clones in the pupal wing show an altered distribution of microtubules compared to wild type.

        Homozygous clones in the wing occasionally produce with multiple wing hairs or a fair of obvious abnormal polarity.
