      Set21 homozygotes rarely reach the adult pharate stage; the adult pharate obtained does not show visible homeotic transformations.

      Hemizygous males die as late third instar larvae.

      Homozygous eyes (induced using the GMR-hid system in heterozygous females) are smaller in size and rough compared to wild-type eyes.
