Description

Imprecise excision of the insertion in mrnEP572, resulting in 989bp of genomic DNA (+6 to +994 relative to the first nucleotide of the translation initiation codon) being deleted and replaced with 24bp of unrelated sequence.

Homozygous mutant clones induced in the eye using the eyFLP method are hardly detected in the adult eye. Homozygous mutant clones induced in the eye using the eyFLP method in a Minute/+ background are recovered in the eye disc, although these clones are much smaller than control clones.

Massive apoptosis is induced in homozygous clones in the eye disc 4 hours after UV irradiation of 500 J/m[2] (apoptosis is not induced in wild-type clones under these conditions).

BrdU incorporation is reduced in the central nervous system and eye imaginal disc of homozygous first instar larvae compared to wild-type controls.
