The expression of NadsynGG01267 under the control of Scer\GAL4arm.PU leads to adults exhibiting a small but significant increase in lifespan, a slower decline in the climbing capacity despite an initial significantly increased climbing capacity, and leads to seven week old adults exhibiting significant decreases in the levels of arrhythmia, diastolic dysfunction and fibrillations, a small but significant increase in fraction shortening, but no significant changes in heart rate, as compared to controls. Upon long term endurance exercise from 2-7 weeks of age, NadsynGG01267-expressing flies exhibit similar improvements in cardiac function, climbing ability and lifespan as wild-type controls, compared to normal exercise conditions.
