Down-regulation of LKR through expression of LKRIR.Scer\UAS during wing development using Scer\GAL4e22c results in significantly smaller wings when compared with control flies.

Down-regulation of LKR through expression of LKRIR.Scer\UAS in the salivary glands under the control of Scer\GAL4Sgs3.PD fails to generate any discernible alterations in tissue histolysis or metamorphosis.

Knock-down of LKR through LKRIR.Scer\UAS partially restores the pigmentation defect found in EcRA-ΔC655.F645A.Scer\UAS (Scer\GAL4GMR.PF) mutants and display a striking decrease of scarring compared to expression of EcRA-ΔC655.F645A.Scer\UAS (Scer\GAL4GMR.PF) alone.
