Compared with wild-type, egg chambers containing CG14542PP6 mutant cells exhibit a loss of plasma membrane, ultimately leading to the formation of clusters of multinucleated cells enclosed by a single actin cytoskeleton, with nuclei rested around clumps of actin-positive structures, possibly also membrane fragments.
The lethality of the Vps2PP6 FRT chromosome in the BDSC:39630 stock (w[*]; Vps2[PP6] P{ry[+t7.2]=neoFRT}82B/TM6B, Tb[1]) does not map to Vps2 : the Vps2PP6 FRT chromosome is viable over three deficiencies which delete Vps2 (Df(3R)ED6232, Df(3R)BSC751 and Df(3R)BSC140) and also complements the lethality of the Vps2CHf1 and Vps2CHf2 alleles.
