UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Adulthood-only expression of Atg13KK100340 under the combined control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU and Gal80[ts] leads to intestinal barrier disfunction (as shown by the abnormal permeability to a non-absorbable food dye), leads to the failure to induce autophagy (assessed by the lysosome and autophagosome marker, Lysotracker) in the adult fat body in response to starvation, and leads to a decreased lifespan, as compared to controls. Adulthood-only expression under the combined control of Scer\GAL4Myo31DF-NP0001 and Gal80[ts] leads to pronounced defects in the midgut, namely a severe increase in cell size and abnormal epithelium morphology, as compared to controls.
