UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
wing, with Scer\GAL4A9
A small number of severely affected flies fail to eclose and die as pharate adults when CG13366KK101059 is expressed using Scer\GAL4da.G32. Eclosing flies are infertile and flightless and have a range of wing defects including inflated, crumpled or blistered wings. These flies die 2-3 days after eclosion as a result of distal proboscis defects and feeding difficulties.
Expression of CG13366KK101059 using Scer\GAL4A9 gives rise to flightless flies: approximately 70% have partially or completely uninflated, crumpled wings and the remaining 30% exhibit wings that are 'held out' and have blisters. Among flies with uninflated, crumpled wings, 70% also have a mild cleft dorsum.
