Expression of Charon^KK105778 under the control of either Scer\GAL4^69B or Scer\GAL4^arm.PS results in wing morphological defects in adult flies, while expression under either Scer\GAL4^Act5C.PI or Scer\GAL4^da.G32 leads to lethality.

Larvae expressing Charon^KK105778 under the control od Scer\GAL4^69B are more sensitive to bacterial and fungal infection in their salivary glands than wild-type.

Expression of Charon^KK105778 under the control of Scer\GAL4^GSG5966 (along with RU486 to activate the expression) results in a significant reduction in lifespan, as compared to controls.
