      Spn28DcΔ2 mutant larvae undergo exaggerated melanization at wound sites compared to controls. Spontaneous melanization is also seen in the larval trachea and spiracle and the lateral sides of Spn28DcΔ2 mutant pupae.

      Hayan1 suppresses the exaggerated melanization seen in Spn28DcΔ2 mutant larvae following wounding. The spontaneous melanization seen in larval trachea and spiracles and lateral sides of the pupae are also abolished.

      Hayan1 rescues the pupal stage lethality associated with Spn28DcΔ2 mutants.
