Detailed Description

Expression of tmodScer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4UH3 results in shortening of thin filaments in the indirect flight muscles, so that they are no longer in perfect register.

51% of animals expressing tmodScer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR die as embryos, while 49% die as larvae. The animals have muscle defects due to short thin filament lengths.

Primary cultured muscle cells isolated from embryos expressing tmodScer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR have shorter thin filament lengths than normal.

Genetic Interactions
Statement

The thin filament shortening phenotype seen in the indirect flight muscles of animals expressing tmodScer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4UH3 is unaffected by the co-expression of DAAMScer\UAS.P\T.cMa.

salsf07849 enhances the lethality cause by expression of tmodScer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR, such that a greater fraction of the animals die as embryos.

The reduction in thin filament length seen in primary cultured muscle cells isolated from embryos expressing tmodScer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR is increased if the animals are also carrying salsf07849.
