Expression of TgNIG.7356R driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PU does not result in a significant rough eye phenotype.

The eclosion rate of animals expressing TgNIG.7356R under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 is approximately 20% that of controls. After eclosion, approximately 90% of the adults show abnormal cuticle morphology in the wings and the abdominal tergites; the wings fail to expand properly, resulting in blistering, and several melanized segments on the abdominal tergites fail to develop. Adults expressing TgNIG.7356R under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 have a shorter lifespan than controls, with approximately 90% dying within 30 days of eclosion.

Larvae expressing TgNIG.7356R under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C show a reduced clot fibre length (assayed by drawout using a fine needle of clot strands from hemolymph bled from larvae into Ringer's solution) compared to control larvae.
