Comment:

Extimated boundaries of a 702 bp deletion resulting from the imprecise excision of P{EP}Naa60EP3301. The deletion extends in both directions from the insertion site and removes the 3' end of defl. Sequence encoding the first 986 aa of defl remains.

Detailed Description

60% of deflP/deflZ animals and 18% of deflL/deflZ and deflZ/Df(3L)deflΔ animals survive to adulthood. 80% of the deflP/deflZ escapers and 100% of deflL/deflZ escapers are male.

40% of eggs laid by deflP/deflZ females and 64% of eggs laid by deflL/deflZ females have defective chorion and dorsal appendage formation. The frequency of morphologically normal eggs that hatch is only 3% for eggs laid by deflP/deflZ females.

deflZ/Df(3L)deflΔ females lay very few eggs.
