Expression of scnyD.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in moderately rough eyes at 22[o]C, and a more severe rough eye phenotype at 25[o]C.
At 22 and 25[o]C, pupal retinas of animals expressing scnyD.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF have an increase in the number of interommatidial cells compared to controls, and the ommatidia are arranged in a square pattern instead of in the normal hexagonal array.
Pupae expressing scnyD.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF at 18[o]C maintain hexagonally arranged ommatidia, but have an increase in interommatidial cells 96 hours after puparium formation (equivalent to 48 hours after puparium formation at 25[o]C).
At 25[o]C, flies co-expressing scnyD.Scer\UAS and scnyGS13668 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF have eyes that are larger and less rough than those expressing scnyGS13668 alone under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.
