      At 25[o]C, animals expressing scnyC.Scer\UAS under the control Scer\GAL4GMR.PF die during the first and second larval instars. The larvae are smaller than normal and have blackened tracheae. If these animals are raised at 18[o]C, some larvae survive to the late pupal stage. These pupae have many defects, including a rough eye.

      Animals expressing scnyC.Scer\UAS under the control of a weak Scer\GAL4GMR.PF line can survive to adulthood and have severe eye defects (small and rough eye).
