Most ommatidia of mid-pupal eyes contain an extra cone cell and an extra primary pigment cell as well as fewer than the normal eight photoreceptors. Late pupal eye discs of these animals show increased cell death compared to wild type in inter-ommatidial cells but not in photoreceptor or cone cells.
Expression of Dip3C00008 under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 results in frequent loss of cross veins and truncation of longitudinal veins in the wing.
