UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Expression of Inx5JF02877 under the control of Scer\GAL4ey-OK107 in adults significantly reduces 3 hour aversive olfactory memory and the residual anaesthesia-resistant memory (ARM) after cold-shock, compared to controls; there is no effect on short-term memory or the anaesthesia-sensitive component of 3 hour memory, compared to controls. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4VT049246, in combination with a Gal80[ts] transgene to restrict expression to the adult stage, also significantly reduces 3 hour aversive olfactory ARM, compared to controls, with no effect on short-term memory.
Expression of Inx5JF02877 under the control of Scer\GAL4ey-OK107, Scer\GAL4VT049246, or Scer\GAL4c739 does not cause any obvious difference in the gross morphology of the mushroom body, compared to controls.
Expression of Inx5JF02877 under the control of Scer\GAL417d, or the split-GAL4 pair of Scer\GAL4DBD.R14C08 and Hsap\RELAAD.R12C11, significantly impairs visual short term memory following training with pain stimulus in adult flies, compared to controls.
Expression of Inx5JF02877 under the control of Scer\GAL4tj.PU (along with expression of UAS-Dcr2 to increase RNAi efficiency) does not cause sterility.
