Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

Dlic1157 mutant MARCM clones of Scer\GAL4odd-MC neurons lack dendrites that extend into the mushroom body calyx, unlike controls.

Homozygous clones in the class IV ddaC dendritic arborization (da) neurons result in a marked reduction in dendrite arborization, with greatly reduced receptive field coverage. There is a reduction in the total number of branch points, a reduction in the total dendritic length and there is also a dramatic proximal shift in branch distribution (fewer branches are located distally, whereas proximal dendrites branch profusely). Most of the mutant axons are abnormally thick and many seem to have split or branched into multiple neurites a short distance from the soma.

Homozygous clones in the ddaC neurons show a nearly fourfold decrease in the number and size of Golgi outposts in the distal dendritic arbor compared to controls, while there is a significant increase in the number and size of Golgi outposts in the proximal dendritic arbor in the mutant clones compared to controls. There is also a marked increase in Golgi outposts in homozygous axons compared to controls (which have virtually no outpost in the axon).
